Balenciaga’s ready-to-wear collection is making heads turn by featuring unique cut out designs and striking graphic prints.
Balenciaga’s head designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, showcased the mastery of reinventing classic designs throughout this collection by including “a string of references that prove it was every inch as thoroughly researched as his more conceptual outings: the mythology of antiquity, stiff ruffles from a Cristobal dress circa 1968, a nymph and faun window display that Janine Janet made for the store’s windows in ’57.”
When asked what stood out in the collection, Nicole Phelps of style.com states, “what gripped you was the cut — the way Ghesquière merged things that were quite graphic with movement.”
With the unique combination of graphic textured prints with crisp tailored pieces, it’s interesting to see how similar design foundations have influenced the Balenciaga glasses collection.
