It indicates the optical centre of your eyes, to make sure that your correction is right in front of your pupils.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important that your PD should be as accurate as possible to make sure you get the clearest and most accurate vision.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t know what your PD is, you can measure it by yourself with&nbsp;our quick guide below.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>5 easy steps to measure your PD<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Whenever possible, we recommend getting your PD measurement from your eye care professional. But don\u2019t worry if they didn\u2019t include it on your glasses prescription \u2013 it\u2019s easy to measure PD by yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Just make sure to take your time and do it at least twice, to ensure it\u2019s accurate.<\/p>\n<p>Follow the instructions below to measure your PD at home.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25181 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clearly.ca\/thelook\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/clearly-how-to-measure-pd-guide-1.jpeg\" alt=\"How to measure PD Guide infographic\" width=\"2629\" height=\"10882\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"single-box clearfix entry-content\">\n<ol>\n<li>You\u2019ll need a ruler with millimetre measurements and a mirror or a friend.<\/li>\n<li>If using a mirror, try to look straight ahead and into the distance as you measure. If a friend is taking your measurements, try to look past them (straight ahead) into the distance to avoid the result being too narrow.<\/li>\n<li>Rest the ruler against the bridge of your nose&nbsp;and line up the middle of your left pupil with the zero line on the ruler. You can now measure the distance between your pupils.<\/li>\n<li>Measure across to the middle of your right pupil, still looking into the distance. It might result in a wrong conversion and your measurement won\u2019t be accurate. If you measure your PD the wrong way, you won\u2019t have the right lens placement.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>3 simple steps to measure dual PD<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dual PD is also known as monocular PD. It is the distance between one pupil to the centre of your nose bridge. It comprises of two measurements and is generally indicated as \u201830(left)\/33(right)\u2019.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Place the zero line of the ruler at the centre of your nose bridge.<\/li>\n<li>Measure the distance between your nose bridge to the centre of your left pupil.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat the same procedure with your right pupil.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"emoji\" role=\"img\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/s.w.org\/images\/core\/emoji\/13.0.0\/svg\/1f6a8.svg\" alt=\"\ud83d\udea8\">&nbsp;Quick tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask a friend: measuring your PD on your own might be a little tricky, so having a friend will be easier.<\/li>\n<li>Hold still: the more still your eyes are, the more accurate the result.<\/li>\n<li>Ask your optician to measure your dual PD if you want the most accurate results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Where can I find my PD?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>When shopping for your next pair of glasses, it\u2019s important to have all your prescription details handy to make the process quick and easy.<\/p>\n<p>If you have recently visited your eye doctor for an eye exam, you can find your PD on your prescription.\u202fIf it was not provided, that opens up two possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>First, there\u2019s a chance your prescription is for contact lenses, which is different than eyeglasses.
